Alcohol Rehabilitation Utah

Upon entering our Utah Alcohol Rehabilitation Center our caring counselors and staff go above and beyond to ensure that our clients feel as comfortable as possible. As soon as our clients are checked in, a plan of action is began that will allow us to custom design a program to suit your or your loved ones needs. At The Journey we feel strongly that healing involves much more than just treating alcohol or drug addiction but assisting our clients in healing their body as a whole. Our center has a private chef to ensure that only the finest meals are prepared. Our clients have access to an amazing gym with pools, racquetball courts, free weights, treadmills, trainers and much more. Most importantly though, our counselors work with our clients in helping them to gain clarity into the causes of their addiction, to deal with current and past situations that "trigger" their cravings and learn who to deal with such issues.

Although every clients experience at our center will vary based upon who they are and through what filters they view events in their lives. However, it can be said that there are 3 main stages in overcoming addiction.

The 1st stage is referred to as detoxification. This is the process by which the body and mind go through withdrawals due to the lack of the addictive substance. Detoxification from alcohol occurs at a specialized facility which specializes in assuring that those who are going through the process are properly monitored and cared for.

The 2nd stage is residential treatment. This can range in time but typically lasts between 28 and 90 days but can last as long as necessary to suit each individual. During this process, the addict will receive counseling, both individual and private, in which they will be assisted in discovering the cause of their addiction and how to deal with and overcome certain situations.

The 3rd stage is known as aftercare. In this stage, the client has detoxed from the drug, graduated from residential treatment, and is now adjusting back to their new sober life. Aftercare is an essential part of the treatment process. It is very important that clients come to the realization that fighting addiction will be a day to day battle which they must continually chose to win. One of the best ways to gain strength is to be active in sobriety, by attending groups, sponsoring others, and actively studying and reviewing material to strengthen the mind against relapsing.

The location of each of our rehab centers greatly enhances the therapy we offer. In our Sandy, Utah location, we are surrounded by beautiful mountains. In the summer, they are nice and cool and our residents love to take nature walks, or go on hikes. In the autumn they are exploding with color from all the changing leaves. No matter what season you come to Journey, there is always some activity that is available to do up in the grand surrounding mountains.

At The Journey, we are committed to your sobriety. We are here to guide you through the healing process. We invite you to call us today for more information; we are ready to help you.
