As soon as you enter The Journey, we will begin assessing and determining your specific needs. We have a holistic philosophy here at Journey, so we focus on you as the complex individual that you are? not just as a person with an addiction. We know that with addiction come many other issues such as behavioral patterns, false beliefs, family problems, etc. At Journey, we try to resolve these issues along with the addiction, enabling each of our residents to leave our center with peace and comfort and better able to face the outside world.

The location of each of our rehab centers greatly enhances the therapy we offer. In our Sandy, Utah location, we are surrounded by beautiful mountains. In the summer, they are nice and cool and our residents love to take nature walks, or go on hikes. In the autumn they are exploding with color from all the changing leaves. No matter what season you come to Journey, there is always some activity that is available to do up in the grand surrounding mountains.

Being out in the surrounding nature of our centers can increase the healing that one experiences with us. We offer a variety of activities in which the residents can get out into nature and connect with the earth and a higher power. Taking in the natural beauty of the world around us can increase our sense of inner-peace and balance in our lives. We encourage our residents to meditate outside, take walks or just relax on our charming grounds. This can enable them to be more open during individual, group, or family therapy sessions.

There are three stages of recovery from substance abuse. The first stage is detoxification. This will occur outside of our centers at a hospital that specializes in this treatment and which offers fully stabilizing care. After the detox takes place, the residents will then enter Journey to further their healing process. This process can be a minimum of twenty eight days, or can be extended to as long as necessary for the individual. The healing process should not be hurried though. At Journey, we know that it is vital to take as much time as our residents need to get the healing that they need. During the process, therapy will be given on an individual and customized basis. Our philosophies and methods of holistic healing will help the individual to conquer their battle with addiction. After a resident's stay is over, aftercare is then planned and carried out. Journey's clients are always welcome back at our centers to participate in our group therapy sessions should they feel the need to attend one, and are provided with 2 years of Free aftercare meetings.
