Inpatient Rehab

What is Inpatient Rehab?

Inpatient rehab can be either long or short term programs in which the client must stay at a specialized facility. A short term program can last up to 28 days, and a long term program can last up to a year. Inpatient rehab programs offer a safe and open environment in which clients can begin to live and learn to maintain a sober lifestyle. Inpatient programs have specialized staff that are qualified to deal with the problems associated with drug addiction. The understanding present in inpatient programs is high, as many of the staff members are recovering addicts themselves. The patient will be surrounded by people who understand exactly what they are going through and come to know that they are not alone in their struggle and that they have a strong support system surrounding them.

Who is Inpatient Rehab Right for?

An inpatient recovery program can be the most effective method of healing for anyone suffering from a drug or alcohol addiction. At an inpatient facility, those facing addiction can have access to help and counselors at any time. They maintain residency at the facility where there are no temptations and where they are not alone. Inpatient programs are especially beneficial because counselors and staff members can note the progress of each person on a daily basis. They would then be able to make the needed adjustments to ensure success right away.

Considering inpatient rehab can be on overwhelming prospect. It requires that a person take some time away from their lives and the people they know to go to a facility that can help them center themselves and gain control of their lives back. Many times, just getting away from the daily stressors in life can offer a huge improvement in a person's well being. An inpatient rehab center is optimal for people who find that their addiction is being triggered by many things occurring in their day to day routine. It will allow them to break out of their routine, recognize the triggers, and gain the strength to avoid those triggers. This type of program makes it easier to focus on getting better, getting rid of the addiction, and not worrying about anything else.

Entering an inpatient rehab facility would be right for anyone with an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Inpatient care offers the attention and better success rates for patients needing specialized rehab.

Programs

A good inpatient rehab center will offer a variety of different programs based upon individual addictions and needs. Although these rehab centers can be costly, it is well worth the money spent to gain back your life. Sometimes insurances will help cover the cost of rehab, so it is a good idea to inquire as to what your insurance will pay, and what centers will accept your insurance. If you do not have insurance that will help you or any insurance at all, many centers will offer patient financing options to better accommodate you.

Family involvement is an important factor in the inpatient recovery process. Inpatient programs should offer opportunities for families to become aware, get involved in, and support individuals in the facility. Family members can offer a wonderful support both while a person is in the program, and most importantly, when they return to their own home.

After care should also be an option for anyone who decides to use inpatient programs. After care is when a person can partake in educational opportunities, therapy, follow-up, and monitoring of progression after they have finished their program. This type of care should be made available to you whenever you feel it is necessary.
